About the Event
Get ready to paint yourself calm for Dallas Street Dog Advocates! In this welcoming beginner watercolor workshop we will learn basic watercolor techniques including brush strokes, wet on wet painting, and color mixing. As we paint, we will focus on practicing mindfulness as a tool to reduce stress and anxiety in our everyday lives. In addition to reducing stress, painting has been shown to improve problem solving abilities, strengthen memory and recollection, and increase creativity.
What to expect:
- A calming, welcoming environment
- Two hours spent learning and practicing basic watercolor techniques
- Guided, step by step demonstration of how to create your own final artwork
- A brief introduction to mindfulness and how to practice it through painting with watercolor
What to bring:
- Your dog loving self, and an eagerness to learn
- All tools and materials will be provided for you to complete your artwork
